Jacob's First Birthday

This cake was for my nephews first birthday. The design was based on a birthday napkin. The cake was half chocolate and half gold.

Auntie's Mickey Cake

This cake was for Auntie's birthday. She loves all things Disney, so Mickey was the natural choice. It is a half chocolate, half gold cake with buttercream frosting. Mickey was done freehand, and the stars were done using a cookie cutter as an outline.

Lobster Cake

This cake was just for fun, to say goodbye to summer, 2007. It is a gold cake with buttercream.

Kyle's Christening Cake

This cake was for Kyle's christening. The bottom tier is gold cake and the top tier is chocolate. The design was an idea of my neighbors, who also decorates cakes.

Kaelin's Coconut Cake

This cake was a surprise cake for my daughter's 10th birthday. The party didn't have a theme, but we were heading to American Girl Place in New York with her Auntie in few weeks, so that's where coconut came from. She loved the cake, and the girls had a blast with our party activity...we decorated cupcakes using my tips. The frosting was taller than the cupcakes!

Greg and Maria's Bridal Shower Fiesta Cake

This cake was created for my brother-in-law and his soon to be wife for their Bridal shower fiesta. This was the biggest cake I had ever made, and my first time working with fondant. The bottom tier was gold with buttercream and strawberries (close to what their wedding cake will be) and the top tier was chocolate with a buttercream and chocolate ganache filling (so yummy!) The sombrero and chili peppers were hand made from fondant, and the candles were purchased. I was worried about the cake making it there in one piece, so I rode criss-cross applesauce on the floor in the back of the mini-van with it. The cake survived the journey, and was enjoyed by all!

Zoo Cake

This cake was for a co-workers birthday. She was spending the day at the zoo with her friends, so she was looking for a zoo themed cake. It is a gold cake with a simple buttercream filling.

Luau Cake

This cake was created for my friend Colleen. She was throwing her father a surprise 60th birthday, with a luau theme. The cake was gold, with buttercream a strawberry filling. I used a grass hair tip to create a grass skirt around the cake, and a large star tip for the lei around the edge of the cake.

Kyle's Jungle Cake

I created this cake for my sons first birthday based on his rainforest themed bouncy seat. It was a half gold, half chocolate cake with homemade buttercream. He had a little 1 smash cake (sans egg, because he is my little allergy boy) The cake was a big hit. Now it's on to planning his second birthday!
